In 2014 wanting to honor and celebrate her Liberian roots, her grandparents, and her mother, New York native and beauty expert, Ashanti Nwaka, named her company Nyandibo - a family name, enriched by strength, love, faith, discipline, humor, and humility

As a globally inspired and sourced brand, Ashanti created Nyandibo Beauty for everyone - with a full range of skincare + cosmetics products to suit all skin tones + types.

Ashanti attributes her mother Clairessa to her admiration and love of beauty industry.

“I was always in love with the way my mother dressed. She never really wore much makeup but she had a timeless style and a pension for well made staples - like a classic heel - or that perfect red lip.”

As a hairstylist, makeup artist, and licensed cosmetologist, Ashanti has shaped hearts and heads for over 20 years - working with events like Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week and New York Fashion Week Africa - where she became the Beauty Director in 2013. Two years later, she achieved global notoriety by becoming a beauty partner for Africa Fashion Reception.

Ashanti's work has appeared in The Alcalde, Austin Monthly, Cosmopolitan, Austin Wedding Day, and other trade publications. Her catalog also includes television - working with projects for NBC, BET, G4, MTV, AMC, FX and USA.
